Surveys & Quick Insights When You Need Answers Fast
Fast, proportionate research to validate assumptions, test ideas, and gather feedback before you invest heavily. Professional survey design, smart distribution, and clear analysis that tells you what to do next.
Why surveys and quick insights work
Not every question needs weeks of research. Sometimes you just need to know: will people use this? Which option do they prefer? Are we solving the right problem?
Well-designed surveys and quick insight methods give you directional answers in days, not months. They're perfect for testing assumptions, gauging interest, identifying barriers, and validating ideas before you commit significant time or budget.
What we measure and validate
From customer satisfaction to concept validation, we design surveys and quick insight studies that answer your specific question.
Concept Testing Surveys
Test product concepts, feature ideas, or messaging before you build. Gauge appeal, understand concerns, and identify which direction to pursue.
Customer Satisfaction Surveys
Measure satisfaction, track NPS, identify improvement areas. Understand what customers value and where you're falling short.
Barrier & Needs Discovery
Quick research to identify what stops people using a service, adopting a product, or completing a journey. Uncover unmet needs.
User Segmentation Research
Understand who your users are, what they need, and how to group them. Create segments based on behaviour, needs, or demographics.
Patient & Public Surveys
PPIE surveys for healthcare services, NHS trusts, and research projects. Accessible formats, ethical distribution, governance-ready reporting.
Employee & Stakeholder Feedback
Internal surveys for employee engagement, change management, or stakeholder input. Anonymous options available.
Market & Demand Validation
Test market appetite, gauge willingness to pay, and validate demand before launching products or services.
Prioritisation & Feature Voting
Let users or stakeholders vote on features, rank priorities, or choose between options. Data-driven roadmap decisions.
When to use surveys and quick insights
Choose surveys when you need speed, scale, or quantification
Surveys are perfect for:
Testing assumptions quickly. You think you know what users want. A survey tells you if you're right before you invest in building it.
Quantifying qualitative findings. Interviews surfaced themes. Now you want to know how widespread they are across your whole user base.
Reaching large numbers. You need input from 100+ people, not 10. Surveys scale in a way interviews can't.
Measuring trends over time. Track satisfaction, NPS, or engagement quarterly or annually to spot changes and measure impact.
Don't use surveys when you need:
To understand 'why'. Surveys tell you what people think or do. They're weak at explaining motivations, context, or complex behaviour. Use interviews for that.
To observe actual behaviour. People are terrible at predicting what they'll do. If you need to see behaviour, run usability testing or observational research.
Deep exploration of new territory. If you don't know what questions to ask yet, start with interviews or focus groups. Then use surveys to validate themes.
Complex decision-making insight. Multi-stakeholder decisions, organisational dynamics, or politically sensitive topics need richer methods than surveys provide.
How we design better surveys
Most surveys fail because of poor design. We write clear questions, avoid bias, and keep completion rates high.
Clear objectives first
What decision will this survey inform? What do you need to know? We start with your goals and design backwards to questions that answer them.
Short and focused
No 50-question marathons. We ask the minimum needed to answer your question. Higher completion rates. Better data quality. Respect for people's time.
Bias-free questions
No leading questions. No double-barrelled items. No confusing academic language. Clear, neutral phrasing that doesn't push respondents toward answers you want.
Smart distribution
Target the right people through the right channels. Email, in-app, social, website intercepts, panel recruitment. We match distribution to your audience.
Accessible design
Mobile-optimised. Screen reader compatible. Plain English. Paper alternatives for digitally excluded populations. Multi-language options where needed.
Analysis that informs action
Not just tables of percentages. We synthesise findings, identify patterns, highlight what matters, and recommend what to do next.
Statistical rigour when needed
Confidence intervals. Significance testing. Correlation analysis. We bring statistical expertise when your question demands it.
Follow-up depth available
Survey surfaces something unexpected? We can quickly follow up with interviews or focus groups to understand the 'why' behind the numbers.
Survey tools and platforms we use
We work with industry-standard platforms or your existing tools
Professional survey platforms
We use Qualtrics, SurveyMonkey, Typeform, or Google Forms depending on your needs and budget. Advanced logic, branching, and analysis for complex surveys. Simple tools for quick feedback.
Your platform or ours. Already have a survey tool? We'll work in your system. Need us to provide everything? We've got enterprise licences ready.
Distribution and recruitment
Your audience: Survey your customer list, employee base, or patient population. We design and analyse, you distribute.
Panel recruitment: Need specific demographics or hard-to-reach groups? We recruit through specialist panels and community partners.
Hybrid approach: Combine your internal list with external recruitment to fill gaps and reach new segments.

All packages include: Survey design, platform costs (where we provide), basic analysis and reporting. Clear recommendations on what the data means and what to do next.
Respondents: Recruiting from our own panel, and paying the people who answer, is inside the prices above. If you would rather survey your own list, that is fine too and costs no less.
Harder audiences: A very narrow sample, a specialist professional group or a large sample size can move the price. We tell you at scoping, before you commit, rather than adding it to an invoice.
Common questions
When should I use a survey rather than interviews?
Surveys work well when you need to measure attitudes, preferences, or behaviours across a larger sample and the questions can be answered without discussion. Interviews are better when you need to understand why people do something, explore nuance, or follow up on unexpected responses. Many projects benefit from both: a survey to establish scale, followed by interviews to understand the detail. We cover this in more depth in our guide to qualitative vs quantitative research.
How many responses do I need for a reliable survey?
It depends on your audience size and what you are trying to measure. For a broad consumer audience, 200 to 500 responses typically give reliable directional findings. For niche professional audiences, 50 to 100 responses can be sufficient. We advise on sample size at scoping stage based on your specific research questions.
How quickly can you deliver survey findings?
A well-scoped survey with an accessible audience can go from brief to findings in one to two weeks. More complex studies with specialist recruitment or larger samples take two to four weeks.
How much does a survey research project cost?
Survey research projects start from £2,500, which typically covers survey design, distribution or recruitment, analysis, and a findings summary. Larger studies with complex screeners, specialist panels, or deeper analysis are scoped individually.
Do you handle recruitment of survey respondents?
Yes. We can recruit respondents through our own panel, partner panels, or targeted outreach depending on your audience profile. If you have your own audience to survey, we can design the survey and provide analysis without handling recruitment.
We fully recognise the effort your team invested in recruitment, moderation, and analysis, and we genuinely appreciate the quality of the discussions and reporting.
- Usability problems in an insulin device surfaced before manufacturing locked anything in, with human factors evidence supporting the regulatory submission.
- An NHS patient portal team got a prioritised, evidenced list of adoption barriers, and the highest-leverage fix wasn't the one they expected.
- Patient involvement changed a trial's primary endpoint before the protocol was finalised, cited by the ethics committee as a model for evidencing PPIE.
