Usability Testing in Leeds

We are based in Leeds, so in-person sessions here do not carry travel costs or a London day rate, and we recruit participants locally across West Yorkshire. Watch real users navigate your website, app, or product and find exactly where they get lost, confused, or give up.

Why usability testing matters

Whether you are a startup building your first product, a scale-up refining your platform, or an established business redesigning customer journeys - usability testing tells you what works and what does not before you commit budget to fixing it later.

We help organisations validate designs, spot barriers to conversion, identify accessibility issues, and make confident product decisions backed by real user evidence. Not assumptions. Not analytics alone. Actual people, on camera, showing you what happens.

Remote sessions reach users anywhere in the UK. In-person sessions go where the research needs to be: your offices, a local facility, or participants' own environments, wherever they are across the UK.

How usability testing works

Remote sessions for speed and reach across the UK. In-person sessions wherever the research needs to happen: your site, a local facility, or participants' own environments. Either way, the process is the same.

1. Discovery call

We discuss what you are testing, who needs to use it, and what decisions you need to make. Usually 30-45 minutes and free of charge.

2. Research design

We plan the sessions: who to recruit, what tasks to test, what questions to ask. You approve everything before we recruit a single participant.

3. Participant recruitment

We find real users who match your target audience. UK-wide panel for remote and in-person sessions. We recruit wherever your participants are, locally, regionally, or nationally. Screened, incentivised, and scheduled.

4. Testing sessions

Moderated 1-on-1 sessions (usually 45-60 mins each). We observe, prompt, and probe. You can watch live or review recordings afterwards.

5. Analysis & findings

We synthesise what we saw: critical issues, medium friction points, and quick wins. Prioritised for your team to act on immediately.

6. Actionable report

Clear findings with video clips, severity ratings, and recommended fixes. Plain English for stakeholders, enough detail for designers and developers.

Remote or in-person

Both approaches deliver strong findings. We help you choose based on what you are testing, who your users are, and how quickly you need answers.

Remote usability testing

Fast and flexible. Test anywhere in the UK. Access to broader participant pools. Lower cost per session. Perfect for websites, apps, and digital products where location does not affect the experience.

We use Zoom, Teams, or your preferred platform. Moderated sessions where we guide users through tasks and ask follow-up questions in real-time. Recordings available for your team to review.

Best for: Digital products, national audiences, quick validation, prototype testing, when you need 8-12 sessions completed in a week.

In-person testing across the UK

Deeper observation. Pick up body language, environment, and physical context. Test hardware alongside software. Build rapport for sensitive topics or complex journeys.

We test at your office, in research facilities, or in participants' own homes and workplaces, wherever makes sense for the research and the people taking part. We go to where the communities and users are, across the whole of the UK. Stakeholders can observe live or join remotely.

Best for: Complex B2B tools, elderly or digitally excluded users, medical devices and hardware, sensitive healthcare topics, when stakeholder buy-in requires seeing users first-hand.

Who we recruit

The right participants make or break usability research. We find people who genuinely match your users - not professional panel respondents who have done this hundreds of times.

Your target users

We screen participants against your actual audience criteria - demographics, behaviours, product familiarity, job roles, health conditions, whatever defines your user base.

UK-wide panels

Targeting national users? We access participants across the UK and filter by any criteria that matter to your product. Quick turnaround for most audiences.

Specialist audiences

B2B decision makers, healthcare professionals, carers, people with specific access needs, or rare conditions. We find them through professional networks and specialist partners.

Leeds & Yorkshire participants

Need local users for in-person sessions or regional research? We recruit through community networks and local panels across West Yorkshire and beyond.

Common questions about usability testing in Leeds

Do you run usability testing in Leeds?

Yes. We are based in West Yorkshire and run both in-person usability testing at venues in Leeds and remote moderated testing for participants and clients anywhere across the UK. In-person sessions are useful when testing physical products or when observing body language matters to the research.

Can participants come to a venue in Leeds or West Yorkshire?

Yes. We can arrange in-person testing at venues across Leeds and West Yorkshire, handling venue sourcing, accessibility requirements, and participant travel. If you have your own Leeds office or testing facility, we can also work there.

How many participants do you recruit for a usability test?

Most usability testing projects use five to eight participants per audience segment. Five participants typically surface around 80 percent of the main usability issues. For more complex products, multiple audience types, or accessibility testing, larger samples are scoped accordingly.

How much does usability testing in Leeds cost?

Projects start from £5,500 for a focused study with five to six participants. A core study with eight to ten participants typically runs from £9,500. Comprehensive multi-session programmes start from £16,000. All costs include recruitment, incentives, facilitation, analysis, and a findings report.

How long does a usability testing project take?

A focused study typically takes two to three weeks from briefing to findings. Quick validation studies with a simple audience profile and remote sessions can move in as little as one week. Larger projects with in-person sessions or specialist recruitment typically take three to four weeks.
